Mattel Television, the producers of Revelation, does not have rights to the 2002 adaption of He-Man so any plot details or character presentations from that series couldn't be incorporated into this story.
It is also not to be confused with the other He-Man show for Netflix titled He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021), which unlike Revelation is an All-CGI Cartoon targeted at a younger audience. Though also released on Netflix within a couple of years, the show has no relation to its sister show She-Ra and the Princesses of Power due to different owners claiming rights to each sibling. A four-issue comic book prequel, titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation and by the same creative team as the show, was published by Dark Horse Comics. This brief interaction shown indicates Hordak holds a calculating, scheming nature is conspiring against Eternia, and wishes Evil-Lyn to join him at his side. He displayed a protective concern for Evil-Lyn, as shown when he saves Evil-Lyn from Skeletor's hand, and later declares her his equal and his daughter. When he appears to Evil-Lyn as his true self, he calls himself an "independent thinker" and wishes for Evil-Lyn to be his herald, someone to announce the coming of his people. Hordak appears sinister and subtly imperious. His wings are the same as Evelyn's and Teela's wings, bearing a blue cosmic space void texture. His body is tall and slender, with the Evil Horde crest on his upper torso. His face resembles a bone-white demonic bat, like his classical design. Hordak is a humanoid with a vampiric design.
